Malt Expansion Project
Idaho Falls, Idaho
The original Idaho Falls malt plant had a production capacity of approximately 8 million bushels per year. The expansion project doubled the capacity to nearly 16 million bushels.
Barley Cleaning System
Moorhead, Minn.
Ibberson was the design-build contractor to remove and reinstall two new barley- cleaning systems on this project. Each system consists of a cleaner, two pairs of separators and a grader. This work was completed during a 35-day shutdown of the barley cleaning system at which time all other areas of the elevator and malt house remained in operation.
Malt House #5
Shakopee, Minn.
This project was the first vertical tower in North America with both germination and kilning capabilities. It is unique because all processes are in one building rather than having them separated into multiple buildings. It is also one of the first round malt house facilities in the country. The facility uses 300 tons of barley each day to produce malt for the brewing industry.

Ibberson provided engineering services, slipform design and supervision for this barley/malt storage annex.
Summit St. Paul Brewery
St. Paul, Minn.
Summit Brewing Company, the Midwest’s most successful microbrewer, contracted Ibberson to provide the engineering and construction services for this $9 million brewery in St. Paul, Minnesota.
